So, backstory for those unfamiliar with the total context. the man pictured is Brody King (his ring name), who is also the singer for a band called God’s Hate, who has been an outspoken leftist and anti-facist, with having anti-Ice merch that raises money for legal defense funds featured when he wrestles, so thus the chants when he wrestled tonight. AEW is by-and-large a much more left-leaning audience, mainly because it is exists in direct opposition to WWE who is inextricably intertwined with the Republican Party and Trump in particular. however, the wrestlers themselves on all brands tend to be more left-leaning in this generation than you’d suppose but for sure they are going to be more outspoken in the AEW side of things, because well, their founder’s wife isn’t in the fucking administration so they may tend to keep opinions to themselves.
like the Rock’s own daughter, who was an onscreen character until last week, decided to not renew her contact, then tweeted Fuck ICE and disappeared off social media.
